Warning Won Best Video at the DMV EMAs!/1st B-More Show

The music video “Warning” (view here in higher HD quality) just won Best Video at the DMV EMAs (DC//Maryland/Virginia Entertainment and Music Awards); the song is a joint collaboration between producer Surock, The Package, Enoch, Kokayi (on the hook), Grap Luva, and Nas Jota (the video director). We humbly accept this recognition of our work, because we miraculously beat out heavy competition with serious buzz like Wale (nominated for “Nike Boots”) and several other DMV notables (big up to all the nominees). Thank you to everyone who supported the video.

The Package will also be rocking their first show in Baltimore on Friday, April 17, opening up for veteran hip-hop act Camp Lo at Sonar (407 E. Saratoga St, Baltimore MD). E Major and The Equation are our fellow openers. $12 in advance/$15 at the door. We hope to see a massive DMV turnout in B-More to welcome us to Charm City. :-)

We will be rocking a festival performance on May 2, at the Worldwide Marijuana March (a marijuana decriminalization event) at Malcolm X Park (a/k/a Meridian Hill Park) at 16th & Euclid St NW. Starting at
2pm, going till 6pm. FREE. Hope to see you all out there.

Our next festival date will be July 4th on the National Mall. More details on that and the half dozen other shows we have lined up in the near future are available at http://newgoldenera.com/?page_id=33

Thanks to everyone who supports The Package. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Sincerely,

A. Page (Spirit a.k.a. The Suit)

Reasonable Doubt remix show/DMV EMA nomination

The Package participated in the Reasonable Doubt remix project with some of the finest producers and emcees in the DMV area (remaking “Bring It On”). This project represents the second installment of a daring remix series (the first volume remixed/remade Illmatic) that challenges talented producers to take the original samples from songs on a classic record and flip them, as well as challenging emcees to bring new verses to match the intensity of the original lyrics. It makes the familiar brand new again. Keep an eye out for this project and if you’re in the DC area on March 26th, drop into the Expo (1928 9th St NW, off 9th and U) to see these tracks performed live! Brought to you by the great folks at Inner Loop Records (peace to proud new poppa, J-$crilla).

In other DMV news, the “Warning” video by The Package feat. Grap Luva, Enoch and Kokayi (produced by Surock) is nominated for a Best Video DMV Award at the DMV EMA’s. Video director NasJota is also nominated for Best Video Director.

The Package is scheduled to perform at the DMV EMA’s award show on March 29th, 7pm at the Hampton Conference Center, 207 W. Hampton Place, Capitol Heights MD.

Let me also take this time to thank all the blogs (like Flawless Hustle and Funkadelic Freestyles) who have shown love to the “Warning” video.

With that said, back to the DMV EMA’s…

More info and a full list of nominees can be found at the official web site for the DMV EMA’s:
http://www.dmvemas.com/v1/index.html# (the site has music, so if you’re at work, turn down your speakers…flash link for nominee list can be found on the right side of the opening page)

Hope to see some of you at the show!

pps: Thanks to Everyone Who Came Out At Indulj! For those who missed out, a few weeks ago we played to a packed house at Indulj in DC’s U Street corridor (the show was webcasted live on thehotconversation.com). Much love to everyone who showed up and supported us, especially the folks who bought CDs and all the lovely ladies in attendance! Big up to Krayola for organizing the show (cop a FREE copy of his ‘Resilience’ album when you see him).
