The Package rocked the 2009 Black LUV Festival

The Black L.U.V. (Love Unity Vision) Festival goes down the third Sunday of September every. This year, they invited The Package to rock the stage. And so they did, as you can tell from the video above. This year’s show also featured other incredible DC-based live performers such as Cornel West Theory, N’Digo Rose and Godisheus (”gotta see us”). Additionally, former Black Panther Party chair Elaine Brown and hip-hop icon/inventor of the scratch Grand Wizard Theodore were both honored, in person, for their cultural contributions. DJ Dirty Ice also gave a brief but impassioned eulogy to Grandmaster Roc Raida, who passed away the day prior to the event.

Be sure to mark your calendars to check the next Black LUV Festival out on September 19, 2010!

Hey thanks I found your blog from your twitter page. I am trying to reach out to all of my grassroots activists around the country. I am a black female biker who has researched our incredible rich history and contributions in the sport of motorcycling. We have been denied our props for the designing and building of the motorcycle in the movie Easy Rider. The designer and the builders we both black. They never until recent acknowledged both men.

Well the movie’s prequel is coming out and once again the same mess is about to happen. No recognition of the black biker or their existence as motorcycle riders. I want to start a nationwide ban of the movie.
I calling all of my brothers and sisters to stand up for ourselves and not let this misinformation go down. Black bikers California were the first to build Choppers. It wasn’t Jesse James and the other white chopper motorcycle manufactures.
    The truth must be told.
