For those who missed out, Noyeek the Grizzly Bear (a/k/a Grizz) had a budding solo career before The Package formed. His solo debut (Face Crunch) came out before The Package’s debut (New Golden Era). You might have slept on Noyeek’s original website, which pre-dates this one and is pretty dope. You should also pick up “Face Crunch” if you haven’t already, it’s full of bangers and includes a few pre-Package collabs between Dimensions, Noyeek and Theory.
We were hearing some complaints that there was no streaming option for the Double R mixtape, so we loaded the entire project on Bandcamp for you to stream the whole album! You also now have the option to download individual track as well as the entire project (for those who like some songs more than others). Thank you to the 700-plus kind souls who have already downloaded the Double R project! We’re happy to bring you all a few more options. Feel free to spread the link around to all of your people! Thanks again!
You can also stream or download New Golden Era there as well.
“Final Warning”, Theory’s incendiary re-working of the original “Warning”, both of which feature Enoch 7th Prophet can now be downloaded or streamed here
This is the second leak off of “Double R: Remixes and Rarities”, the remix album form The Package that will be available for free download in just a few more weeks! Producers who have contributed remixes so far include Kev Brown, J-$crilla, E-Minah and Theory and Dimes of The Package themselves, with several other producers including ID 4 Windz (of Scienz of Life) and Jay Mills are slated to contribute as well.
This DMV anthem is particularly timely, since the DMV just took a massive step forward as DMV vets Team Demo recently produced “Crime Wave”, a new buzz single for 50 Cent! The Internet is going crazypraising the production on the track and Jady Experience of Team Demo has been showered with props on his Twitter page. Congrats, fam!
DJ Hyphen of Seattle is promoting The Package’s music video for
“Making Waves” (directed by Peter Rosenberg of Hot 97) to 260
hospitality locations nationwide through his company, Screenplay Inc
(which supplies bars, hotels and restaurants with video content to
entertain their patrons).
In equally big news, Real Hip-Hop Network (RHN) has expressed interest in airing the
“Making Waves” video, pending some minor editing that we have to do to conform
with their needs.
These are two big strides towards exposing The Package’s debut video to the whole
country!
**UPCOMING SHOWS**
The Package has two performances coming up during inaugural weekend
(the Tuesday show is tentatively cancelled) and multiple appearances
at community radio planned for that week to promote their debut album,
“New Golden Era” (available on iTunes, cdbaby.com and at
performances).
Sun. Jan 18: Asylum (2471 18th St NW) (currently being finalized)
Mon. Jan 19: The Red and The Black (1212 H St NE)
$8, Doors at 8, Show @ 8:30
w/ The Five One and Triple Saccs
Tues. Jan 20: This show was one installment of a weekly event, but I
was just informed by the promoter of that weekly event that the venue
was rented to a private third party on the night of the 20th. I hope
this matter can be resolved, but for now, we’re saying this show is
cancelled.
Throughout most of inaugural week, The Package will be on the Decipher
strip (WPFW 89.3 FM’s weeklong hip-hop programming, M-F, 10-11,
streaming live wpfw.org). The confirmed dates are:
Mon. Jan 19: Ill Street Grooves, 10-11
Wed. Jan 21: Holla Back, 10-11
Thurs. Jan 22: Soul Controllers, 10-11
Fri. Jan 23: Power Hour, 10-11
Unfortunately, the Blackademics crew on Tuesday will be pre-empted by inaugural
coverage, so we will not be able to appear there.
Additionally, on Friday January 16, Theory of The Package will be
competing in the King of the Beltway producer battle at Jammin Java
(227 Maple St E, Vienna VA), as presented by Inner Loop Records.
**LATEST VIDEOS**
Our long-delayed new video, “Warning” featuring 2009 Grammy Award
Nominee Kokayi, Grap Luva and Enoch, is out now and can be seen at

**DMV LOVE BIG-UP SECTION**
Only nine days in, this has already been a huge month for the DMV as
Raekwon and Cappadonna ciphered with Ra The MC, Jamila, Benji and some
of DMV’s freshest talents at the Wu-Tang afterparty at Indulj. Wale
and Tabi Bonney got featured by MTV2’s “My Block” at Mirrors. And, of
course, Tabi rocked out with some ill b-boys and b-girls at Langdon
Park Rec Center for his “Duhhh” video. With collabos from Kokayi and Tabi
soon to bless our ears, as well as talk of a Wale/Oddisee pairing, 2009 is
shaping up to be a banner year in the DMV.
Thank you for your continued support of The Package and DMV music as a whole!
The Package closed out the H Street Festival this year. And, rightfully so, who wants to follow after a monster on the mic like Dimes? Click above to check footage of Dimes rocking “Windows to the Soul” (from the New Golden Era album, available on iTunes and cdbaby.com).
‘Making Waves’ is going for adds at radio internationally on 10/17 (next Monday) and is being pushed by our main man Double J at http://foundation-media.com/ (all dj’s who support dope music worldwide, get at him!!!)
Much respect to Kev Brown for producing the remix and much love to everyone who has copped the single and the album from iTunes (direct link to where you can cop our music on iTunes to the left of this entry)…the more support we get from the people, the more dope music we can bring you!
PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS LETTING US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THE MUSIC AND THE VIDEO! THANKS Y’ALL!!!!
